Brand New Old Tyme Way
This is my first solo CD released on Rounder Records in 1995 and it features my own compositions and my clawhammer banjo playing, though I do play mandolin on a couple of tracks. The pickers include Roy Huskey Jr, Stuart Duncan, David Grier, Mike Compton, and Jerry Douglas. The reels, waltzes and aires played by the full band are punctuated by a banjo duet with producer, Bela Fleck, a playful bass duet with Roy, my flatfooting to Tim O’Brien singing and playing the fiddle, and spooky tune with Kenny Malone on percussion.
