Grit & Polish

Bryan McDowell and I toured together with the Claire Lynch Band for several years, and his instrumental versatility, facility, and artistry were a constant delight. We agreed to do some touring as a duo in 2019 and cut these tracks in my little basement recording studio to have something to sell on the road. It blossomed into a very unique and colorful project with Bryan on fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and fretless banjo, and me on bass, banjo, hambone, jaw harp, and feet, playing everything from rocking fiddle and banjo tunes to Louis Jordan Boogie Woogie and a beautiful Dylan ballad. There are a handful of original tunes and songs, one of which includes some sweet harmony from Claire.
