I got a call in 2000 from promoter Bill Bost to play for his concert series in Hickory, North Carolina. I secured Jim Hurst, Missy Raines, and Casy Driessen for the show and the groove was so great that we decided to do some touring together under the name of Mark Schatz and Friends. This culminated in the release of this project, also on Rounder Records, in 2003, Guests included Tim O’Brien, Stuart Duncan, Jerry Douglas.
