Volume 5 – Sweet Sunny South, The Bluegrass Album Band

Todd Phillips and Bobby Hicks, who had played on all of the previous projects in this series, were not available when this was recorded, so Tony (with whom I was playing at the time) called on Vassar Clements and me to be part of this recording. It was a thrill being part of this ongoing collaboration. Check out Vassar’s solo on “On the Old Kentucky Shore” and Tony’s exquisite intro to the title cut, “Sweet Sunny South”.
